Sino Hydro company has been working for the past 43 months to complete the project. A Chinese official said that a comprehensive test had started, and would last a few days.

Earlier, the project had conducted tests of its embankment door and reservoir. Assistant Director Chang Fa Pin at the hydro project said that the tests of the turbine and the tunnel had so far been successful. The project, that has two turbines, plans to generate 25 megawatt power from one turbine by September 30.

The project and the contracting company had inked a deal to generate power six months ago. “Despite the blockade that hindered works, we have completed it,” said the Chinese official.

China’s multinational company Sino had completed the works on the tunnel and the dam.
