19 September: Inverter supplier Sungrow unveiled a new product line for utility-scale and rooftop PV installations at the Renewable Energy India Expo in New Delhi over the weekend.

The new portfolio includes:

- The SG5000UD turnkey station for 1500 Vdc systems, which has an optimal protection level of IP65, maximum efficiency of 99% and doesn’t derate in temperatures reaching 50 degrees Celsius. The 5MW product has a DC/AC ratio of “up to” 1.7 and flexible 5MW or 10MW block design. It has been developed for large-scale utility plants.

- The SG250HX-IN 1500 Vdc string inverter, which Sungrow is billing as “the world's most powerful 1500 Vdc string inverter” and the “perfect solution for hilly utility-scale applications.” The product features 12 maximum power point trackers (MPPTs) and has a maximum efficiency of 99%. It has a flexible block design of up to 6.3MW.

A range of rooftop products were also displayed at the show. This included commercial and industrial solutions ranging from 10kW to 110kW designed to “maximise yields under complicated conditions” and a range of residential solutions “utilising string inverters from 3kW to 8kW of volume,” according to a release.

The Chinese manufacturer opened a facility in Bangalore in July 2018 and announced a 4GW milestone in India in July.
