In the next one year it plans to add 1,500 MW capacity, 5,200 MW in the second year, and 3,300 MW in the third year.

State-owned SJVN plans to install over 10,000-megawatt (MW) renewable energy capacity in three years, said its Chairman and Managing Director, N L Sharma in the Q1 FY24 earnings conference call recently.

“Total installed capacity we are going to add in the next three years, the projects which are visible, and we have already won the project, and construction is either going on or will start… So our installed capacity after three years will be crossing 10,000 MW,” said Sharma.

He said that in the next one year they plan to add 1,500 MW capacity, 5,200 MW in the second year, and 3,300 MW in the third year.

“Currently the company’s installed capacity is about 2,100 MW comprising two hydro projects, two wind projects, and four other solar projects, and 16 projects of 4,500 MW capacity are under construction,” projects, and 16 projects of 4,500 MW capacity are under construction,” said Sharma.

SJVN has a total portfolio of 55,000-MW capacity.

“Our target of 25 GW by 2030 is rightly and quite visible. We will definitely achieve that target,” he added.

Giving a breakdown of projects planned in the next three years, the management informed that 54 projects will be commissioned in the next three years – 10 projects in the first year, 19 projects in the second year, and 25 projects in the third year.
