Energy giant E.ON has today announced a deal to deploy Naked Energy's solar heat and power technology at commercial and industrial-scale projects across Europe and the UK through its Energy Infrastructure Solutions (EIS) business unit.

Naked Energy's technology - which the firm claims save up to four times the amount of carbon as standard solar PV panels - is to be offered to a range of business customers across Europe where there is a strong business case for switching to renewable heat technologies.

Potential partners include breweries, food and beverage firms, apartment blocks, hotels, leisure centres with swimming pools, and district heat networks, the companies said.

The partnership represents a further boost for Naked Energy, as the company works to tap into export markets and complete its ￡30m Series B funding round.

Mark Ritzmann, managing director at E.ON Group Innovation, said the partnership with Naked Energy - which claims to provide the world's highest energy density solar technology for flat roofs - would help provide a major boost to clients' decarbonisation plans.

"E.ON is committed to climate protection and the sustainable energy transition," he explained. "Leveraging every available space, especially in limited environments, is crucial for generating renewable energy on a large scale."

Christophe Williams, CEO and co-founder of Naked Energy, said the need to decarbonise urban and industrial heating has never been more urgent.

"The team at EIS share our vision for ambitious energy solutions that are future-proof, smart and efficient," he said. "This deal marks an exciting step forward in Naked Energy's journey as we scale our operations globally. We look forward to beginning our work together."
