In order to strengthen the electricity transmission and distribution system within the country, the work of substation under construction in Hetaunda sub-metropolitan city of Makwanpur-11 Thanabhayang has reached its final stage. 400÷220 KV, 220÷132 KV and 132÷11 KV substations are under construction in Hetaunda substation.

Within a month, the equipment of the substation will be installed, tested, and operationalized as per the goal. Additionally, local power supply will also be provided through the substation, apart from electricity transmission in the national grid. This will ensure sufficient, reliable, and high-quality power supply to the region.

Nepal Electricity Authority’s Managing Director Kulman Ghising has expressed satisfaction with the progress of the substation’s construction in recent times. Ghising had directed coordination with project management and construction contractors during the construction phase. Ghising has instructed to complete the remaining work within a month to bring the substation into operation.

Under the investment of the Government of Nepal and the Electricity Authority, the expansion project of the Hetauda-Dhalkebar-Inaruwa 400 kV substation includes the construction of 400÷220 kV facilities. Within the Hetauda substation, three power transformers with a capacity of 315 MVA each are under construction, with a total capacity of 945 MVA.

The construction of the Hetauda 220÷132 kV substation has been completed under the project for the enhancement of the domestic electricity transmission system and for facilitating electricity trade between Nepal and India through the Hetauda-Dhalkebar-Inaruwa 400 kV double circuit transmission line.

Under the project, construction of 400÷220 kV substations has been completed in both Dhalkebar and Inaruwa and they are now operational. Contracts for the construction of Hetauda and Inaruwa substations were signed in the year 2075 BS.

The construction of the Hetauda 220÷132 kV substation is underway as part of the project aimed at strengthening the domestic electricity transmission system and facilitating electricity trade between Nepal and India through the Hetauda-Dhalkebar-Inaruwa 400 kV double circuit transmission line.

There are two power transformers of 160÷160 MVA in the substation. After dissatisfaction with the performance of the contractor company, a new contract was negotiated in Dec 2018 to complete the remaining work.

Under the project, the construction of 220 kV substations in both Dhanusha and Inaruwa has been completed and they are now operational. The project was initiated with investment from the government and the authority, along with a concessional loan from the World Bank.

Under the Hetauda-Bharatpur-Bardghat 220 kV transmission line project, the construction of a 132÷11 kV substation in Hetauda has been completed. This substation will supply electricity locally.
