An ‘Industrial Expo and CAN Infotech Fair-2081’ has begun in Bharatpur since Friday. Chitwan Association of Industries and Federation of Computer Association Nepal (CAN Federation), Chitwan have jointly organised the fair as part of the exhibition and fair festival targeting Bharatpur visit year 2024 to market domestic products and support entrepreneurship development through technology transfer.

Inaugurating the festival, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Damodar Bhandari said that by increasing the industrial production in the country, Nepali goods and services should be supplied to the national and international markets and jobs should be created.

Minister Bhandari said that they were ready to formulate and implement a proper policy to solve the problems of industrialists and small and medium enterprises who are in trouble due to the high reduction in market demand.

Surya Prasad Neupane, president of the CAN Federation, Chitwan, said that the consumption of industrial products is on decline in the current economic recession seen in the world and most of the industries have reached the point of closure and even the operating industries are running at very low capacity.

The exhibition has the support of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Micro, Cottage and Small Industry Promotion Centre, Bagmati Provincial Government, Office of Industry and Commerce, Chitwan, Bharatpur Metropolitan City and local municipalities of Chitwan. The Koshi Province, Madhes Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province and others are participating in the exhibition.

During the exhibition period, a seminar with a panel discussion on Startup Ecosystem and Technological Innovation in Nepal and Opportunities and Challenges for Sustainable Industrial Development is being held, said a press statement issued by the CAN Federation.

The exhibition will continue until Tuesday (April 23, 2024). The use of the latest technology will be encouraged through IT seminars at the exhibition.

During the exhibition period, facilities and concessions such as the purchase of laptops and mobiles in installments with zero per cent interest rate, exchange and free repair services of computers, laptops and printers and special discounts on smart interactive boards of various brands will be provided, read the press statement.

Online registration has been arranged for the visitors. It is believed that the exhibition will encourage young people in entrepreneurship, help to keep the currently sluggish economy running and prepare the basis for industrial development by making maximum use of modern information technology.
