As part of its corporate social responsibility, Machhapuchhre Bank Ltd. has constructed and handed over drinking water infrastructure to Shree Tribhuwan Jan Secondary School in Malneta, Ward No. 15 of Sharada Municipality, Salyan District, Karnali State.

The handover ceremony took place on Wednesday, May 29 at the school.

The initiative was undertaken after the bank learned about the severe water shortage affecting the school’s operations, which in turn was hampering the education of the students.

According to the bank, the school, which accommodates 289 students and 18 teachers/staff, had been temporarily managing water supply by installing a pipeline from a source located 3,500 meters away.

his arrangement, however, faced several issues such as drying up during droughts and pipe damage due to wildfires, disrupting the water supply.

To address these challenges, the bank constructed a permanent water supply system, including a tank at the water source and taps within the school premises.

The newly constructed infrastructure was then handed over to the school management committee.

The entire construction process took approximately two months.

Machhapuchhre Bank has been actively engaging in various social responsibility initiatives across the country, partnering with different organizations to work in areas such as health, education, infrastructure development, financial literacy, and sustainable development.
