Leading businessmen under the chairmanship of Chandra Prasad Dhakal, president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and Chairman of IME Group, have established the Nepal Investment Company worth Rs 10 billion.

The company has been established for the purpose of investing in major infrastructure projects in Nepal, FNCCI source told Republica. According to the source, the issued capital of the company is Rs 10 billion. The company is planning to collect Rs 1 billion for its working capital. Likewise, it is also said that the company will raise investment from the general public by issuing primary shares.

Dhakal initiated the establishment of this investment company during a meeting of the FNCCI's executive committee in Dhorpatan. The objective is to enable industrialists across the country to invest and contribute to infrastructure development in Nepal.

Rajendra Malla, immediate past president of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC), Vishnu Kumar Agarwal, immediate past president of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), Bhagirath Sapkota, president of Federation of Nepalese Industries and Entrepreneurs, and Manoj Paudel, chairman of Investment and International Affairs Forum of FNCCI, have been selected as directors of the company.
