TMD Energy Limited (TMDEL), a Malaysia - and Singapore-based marine fuel bunkering services provider, has announced plans to expand into oil waste collection to strengthen its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) commitments. This strategic move enhances the company’s role in promoting sustainable practices within the maritime and energy sectors.

TMDEL, known for its expertise in ship-to-ship marine fuel transfers, ship management, and vessel chartering, views waste as a resource with potential for conversion into fuel. The initiative focuses on collecting sludge oil and used cooking oil, which will be supplied to third-party partners for processing into biodiesel. This approach diversifies TMDEL’s revenue streams while supporting sustainable waste management.

Following a successful initial public offering (IPO), TMDEL aims to utilize its logistics network and industry knowledge to meet the growing demand for eco-friendly waste disposal solutions. The company plans to gather residual oils from maritime operators and the food industry, enabling their transformation into biodiesel. This circular economy model reduces greenhouse gas emissions and aligns with Malaysia’s national goals for renewable energy adoption.

The biodiesel market in Malaysia, bolstered by government incentives, offers significant growth potential. TMDEL’s entry into this sector complements evolving regulatory frameworks and increasing corporate demand for sustainable partnerships.
