On August 6, 2025, FORVIA HELLA announced the world’s first mass production of a 12V lithium battery management system (BMS) in China, developed in collaboration with EVE Energy. This advanced technology will be integrated into premium passenger vehicles from leading European automakers, marking a significant step in automotive electrification.

The BMS offers precise monitoring of low-voltage energy, intelligent management, and multiple layers of safety protections. Its flexible design ensures compatibility with various electrical architectures, while its lifecycle prioritizes sustainability through efficient resource use and durability. The system aligns with the principle of “using less, using better, lasting longer,” supporting environmentally conscious automotive solutions.

Ms. Deng Dongmei, Senior Director of FORVIA HELLA China’s Electronics Division and General Manager of HELLA (Nanjing) Electronics Co., Ltd., highlighted China’s leadership in the new energy vehicle (NEV) sector. She stated: “This achievement not only lays a solid foundation for future domestic projects but also strengthens FORVIA HELLA’s position as a global leader in electrification.” Ms. Deng emphasized that the milestone reflects the company’s robust research and development capabilities and smart manufacturing processes, enabling rapid responses to local market needs.

In March 2024, FORVIA HELLA established HELLA (Nanjing) Electronics Co., Ltd. to strengthen its presence in the NEV sector. The new entity focuses on energy management solutions and aims to introduce a broader range of automotive electronics to meet the growing demand for high-quality components from Chinese automakers. This strategic move enhances the company’s ability to adapt to diverse market requirements.
