MAW Group, the official distributor of Changan Automobiles in Nepal, has officially launched its new electric SUV, the Deepal S-05, in the country.

The unveiling ceremony was attended by Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song, MAW Growth Chairman Bishnu Agrawal, Managing Director Vivek Sikaria, Changan Auto Southeast Asia Managing Director Zhang Jianhua, and Deepal’s brand ambassador and former cricketer Paras Khadka, among others.

According to the company, the Deepal S-05 introduces several premium and innovative features to the Nepali EV market, including a “Queen Co-Pilot Passenger Seat” and “Welcome Seat” for enhanced comfort as soon as passengers enter. The SUV also offers remote in-and-out parking, allowing the vehicle to move forward or backward via remote control in tight spaces, as well as a heads-up display projecting speed, navigation, and other information directly on the windshield.

Additional highlights include the ability to communicate with people outside the car from inside, a premium 18-speaker sound system, and connected features supporting apps like Spotify and YouTube.

The SUV comes equipped with ADAS 2.0 technology, offering 19 advanced safety features—claimed to be the most in its segment.

Powered by CATL’s Golden Shield Battery System 2.0, the vehicle boasts a lifespan of up to 5,000 cycles and can fast-charge in just 15 minutes.

The Deepal S-05 is a rear-wheel-drive model and will be available in two variants: the Lite priced at Rs 4.899 million and the Max at Rs 5.499 million.
