Vikram Solar has officially commissioned a new 5GW solar module manufacturing facility in Vallam, Tamil Nadu. The plant significantly boosts the company's annual production capacity to 9.5GW and reinforces its leading role in India’s advanced solar manufacturing sector.

Located on a 27,000-square-metre site, the Vallam facility incorporates state-of-the-art automation, intelligent robotics, advanced material-handling systems, and integrated quality control processes. These features ensure higher precision, greater output, and enhanced reliability throughout production.

The plant is based on TOPCon cell technology and supports M10, G12, and G12R wafer formats, enabling the production of high-efficiency modules that meet Tier-1 and international quality standards.

The new unit complements Vikram Solar's existing operations in Oragadam, Tamil Nadu, and aligns with the company's ongoing expansion that includes a forthcoming facility in Gangaikondan. Together, these developments strengthen Tamil Nadu's position as a key centre for next-generation solar manufacturing in India.

Modules manufactured at Vallam will supply utility-scale projects, commercial and industrial customers, and distributed generation initiatives across India. The increased capacity supports the country's expanding renewable energy requirements and contributes to the continued growth of domestic solar infrastructure.

The commissioning of the Vallam plant marks another step forward in Vikram Solar's long-term strategy to deliver cutting-edge, high-performance solar solutions while expanding India's self-reliance in clean energy technology production.
