Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stated that 30 megawatts of electricity production has started at the Upper Trishuli-3A Hydropower Project, following the maintenance and repair of mechanical parts, including two turbines. Prime Minister Oli made this statement on Wednesday while presenting the government’s achievements of the first 100 days.
Jayaram Acharya, an employee of the project, said that both units had been shut down for maintenance since the month of Aug/Sep. He mentioned that since 7 Oct, after repairing the turbine and other mechanical parts of one unit, the production of 30 megawatts of electricity has started.
He stated that the other unit will be operational by the Mid Nov. “After repairing the turbine and mechanical parts of one unit, 30 megawatts of electricity production has started,” he said, “Work on the other unit is ongoing, and it will be operational by the Mid Nov.
The Chilime Hub GIS Substation and the Trishuli Hub Hybrid GIS Substation have also come into operation. Oli stated that the operation of these substations has further strengthened the country’s electricity system.
