The government collected customs revenue of Rs 52.15 billion from imported petroleum products in the first seven months of the current fiscal year (FY).

The collected revenue accounts for 42.39 percent of the total import value of Rs 123.67 billion for petroleum products. According to records from the Birgunj Customs Office, the country imported petrol worth Rs 25.30 billion between mid-July 2025 and mid-February 2026.

Likewise, diesel imports stood at Rs 63.65 billion, and cooking gas imports were recorded at Rs 20.85 billion through the same customs point. Birgunj Customs is a major entry gateway for petroleum products in the country.
