Nepal Oil Corporation has increased the prices of petroleum products. Just 11 days after the last adjustment, the corporation has again raised the prices of diesel, kerosene, and petrol by NPR 15 per liter, effective from midnight today. Earlier, the corporation had adjusted prices on the 1st of Chaitra.

According to the new rates, petrol is priced at NPR 184.50 per liter in the first category, NPR 186 in the second category, and NPR 187 in the third category. Similarly, diesel and kerosene are priced at NPR 164.50 per liter in the first category, NPR 166 in the second category, and NPR 167 in the third category. With this adjustment, the price of petrol in Kathmandu will be NPR 187 per liter.

The corporation has categorized Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhganj, Bhalubari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj under the first category; Surkhet and Dang under the second category; and Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal depots under the third category.

The corporation clarified that the price hike in the local market was necessary due to rising prices in the international market. It reported that between March 1 and 24, the purchase price of petrol increased by NPR 76 per liter and diesel by NPR 143 per liter.
