The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a double-digit growth of 14.21 points on Thursday. The index reached 2,950.16 points on Thursday, the last trading day of the week.

The NEPSE index dropped by 24.45 points on Wednesday while it increased by 54.51 points on Sunday, 5.01 points on Monday and 23.83 points on Tuesday.

The sensitive index which measures the performance of group ‘A’ companies increased by 1.98 points to close at 502.44 points.

Even the NEPSE index increased, the daily turnover also increased on Thursday as compared to Wednesday's transaction.

A total of 30,438,305 shares worth Rs. 13.16 billion of 342 companies were sold in 142,733 transactions today.

On Wednesday, a total 31,893,539 shares worth Rs. 14.79 billion had been bought and sold.

The sub-indices of all groups, except development bank, trading and life insurance, increased in today's transaction.

Sub-index of the manufacturing and processing group saw the highest growth of 156.53 points followed by hydropower and hotels and tourism group whose indices increased by 62.79 points and 62.36 points respectively.

Similarly, sub-index of non-life insurance group increased by 50.87 points, others by 15.79 points, microfinance by 10.48 points, banking by 5.75 points, finance by 4.52 points and investment by 0.57 points.

However, sub-index of trading group witnessed a significant fall of 121.57 points while sub-index of development bank dropped by 3.84 points and life insurance by 5.63 points.

The share price of 218 companies increased while the share price of 116 companies decreased in today’s transaction.

On Thursday, share prices of three companies, including Reliance Spinning Mills, Super Khudi Hydropower and Hotel Forest Inn increased by 10 per cent each.

Likewise, share price of Solu Hydropower increased by 9.99 per cent, Bhujung Hydropower by 9.99 per cent and National Hydropower by 6.24 points.

However, share price of Panchakanya Mai Hydropower decreased by 7.48 per cent, Sindhu Bikas Bank by 3.58 per cent and Corporate Development Bank by 3.24 per cent.
