The construction work on 34 long-stalled infrastructure projects under the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development of Bagmati Province has resumed.

According to the ministry, out of 43 previously stalled projects, work on 34 has now restarted under the policy of prioritising the completion of “sick” or delayed projects.

Projects under the Infrastructure Development Office in Makawanpur have regained momentum, including works in Samari, Sikre Dobhan, Laljhadi Bridge, and the Rapti Corridor in Makwanpurgadhi.

Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development of Bagmati Province, Dr. Dinesh Chandra Devkota, has directed concerned authorities to complete the projects within the stipulated time frame and instructed that stalled projects be immediately resumed.

He has also directed contractors to accelerate construction work by adding more workers as needed.

The box culvert bridge connecting Wards 6 and 7 of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City at Bhangtar Khahare Khola is in its final stage of construction.

The bridge, which was initially started by the sub-metropolitan city but remained incomplete, is now nearing completion after the provincial government allocated a budget of around Rs. 17.9 million.

The bridge is about 18 metres long and 8.40 metres wide, with only the railing installation remaining.

Similarly, construction of the Laljhadi Bridge over the Rapti River in Hetauda-1, which had slowed due to design issues, has also progressed rapidly.

The concrete casting of two out of three spans has already been completed, while work on the third is about to begin.

The bridge has achieved 59 per cent physical progress so far, with an estimated cost of around Rs. 93.2 million.

Likewise, construction of the 2.34-kilometre Rapti Corridor from Chaukitol to Rapti Bridge is also progressing rapidly after design and boundary disputes were resolved.

The project has achieved 63 per cent physical progress so far.

Likewise, construction of the Karra Khola Bridge connecting Hetauda-17 and 18, which was 88 per cent complete but had been halted due to legal proceedings, is expected to resume after the dispute is resolved.

Under the Ring Road project, work including concrete paving, sidewalks, and gabion wall construction is ongoing in the Khahare area of Hetauda-14 and 15.

The project has reached 38 per cent physical progress.
