Nepal’s stock market closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark NEPSE Index climbing 14 points to settle at 2,590.29, driven by gains across most sectors.

According to the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the Sensitive Index, which tracks the performance of blue-chip companies, advanced 2.59 points to 453.94.

The Float Index rose 1.07 points to 177.96, while the Sensitive Float Index added 0.90 points to close at 153.50.

A total of 8.47 million shares were traded during the session through transactions worth Rs 4.17 billion, reflecting healthy investor participation.

Market breadth remained firmly positive, with 11 of the 13 sectoral indices ending in the green, while one sector declined and one remained unchanged.

Among listed companies, 195 stocks gained, 60 declined, and 19 closed unchanged, underscoring broad-based buying across the market.

Top performers of the day included NMB Debenture, Narayani Development Bank, and Three Star Hydropower Company, which posted the highest gains.

On the losing side, Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha, NIBL Stable Fund, and NIC Asia Select Fund recorded the steepest declines.
