The Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO) has instructed 15 construction firms and suppliers to submit a written explanation within seven days prior to being blacklisted.

Issuing a public notice on Wednesday, the office asked the concerned parties to submit written grounds and evidence within seven days if there are reasons why they should not be blacklisted.

Various public entities had submitted applications recommending that these contractors and suppliers be blacklisted.

The office stated that although a 30-day notice was issued earlier seeking explanations, the concerned parties failed to respond, prompting this final seven-day deadline.

If a satisfactory explanation is not received within the specified period, the process to blacklist the respective contractors and suppliers will move forward.

Companies placed on the blacklist will be barred from participating in procurement processes across any public entity for a specified duration.
