The Kia Syros EV has emerged as one of the major attractions at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026, with more than 200 units reportedly pre-booked within the first four days of the auto show.

Continental Trading Enterprises, the authorized distributor of Kia vehicles in Nepal, said the response to the newly introduced Syros EV has been stronger than initially expected, particularly among visitors looking for a compact SUV with an electric powertrain.

According to a company representative, the number of pre-bookings for the Syros EV had crossed 200 units by 2:00 p.m. Friday, four days after the start of the NAIMA Auto Show.

“We have been selling the Kia Sonet as our number-one-selling vehicle. However, this time we are seeing significantly stronger interest in the Syros,” the representative said.

The company attributed the strong response to the vehicle’s positioning in the compact SUV segment and its combination of a relatively small footprint with SUV characteristics.

“Being an SUV in the small hatchback segment is one of the reasons why the Syros EV has become a major attraction at the show,” the representative said.

Kia targets 500 Syros EV deliveries

Based on the bookings received during the NAIMA Auto Show, Continental Trading is targeting delivery of approximately 500 Syros EVs by December.

The company said it initially plans to import around 500 units, taking into account the current challenges and uncertainties associated with vehicle import procedures.

The strong pre-booking response at the mobility expo has provided the company with an early indication of market demand for the Syros EV.

The vehicle has particularly attracted attention from customers looking for an affordable electric SUV in a relatively compact segment.

Special NAIMA Auto Show price

The regular market price of the Kia Syros EV has been set at Rs 3.79 million. However, customers can purchase the vehicle for a special Rs 3.59 million during the NAIMA Auto Show, according to Continental Trading.

The promotional pricing has further increased interest in the vehicle among visitors attending the expo.

The company is positioning the Syros EV as an option for customers seeking a combination of electric mobility, SUV styling and urban-friendly dimensions.

Kia expands its lineup with Syros

The growing interest in the Syros EV comes as Kia continues to strengthen its presence in Nepal’s rapidly expanding electric vehicle market.

The company has traditionally maintained a strong position in Nepal through models such as the Sonet, while the introduction of the Syros EV is aimed at expanding its presence in the increasingly competitive electric SUV segment.

Continental Trading said the Kia Seltos is currently available at a starting price of Rs 5.99 million, while the Kia Sonet starts at Rs 4.29 million.

The Syros EV, with its introductory expo pricing of Rs 3.59 million, therefore sits below both models and is expected to appeal to a broader segment of customers seeking an electric SUV at a comparatively accessible price.
