Efforts to restore electricity services in Rasuwa, where power infrastructure suffered extensive damage due to the devastating floods, have been intensified. Work is underway to establish the Nuwakot–Rasuwa power interconnection to facilitate electricity supply in the affected areas.

Despite difficult terrain, damaged infrastructure, and adverse weather conditions, technical teams have continued constructing necessary structures and installing power lines.

At the same time, technical assessments of the flood-damaged power infrastructure are being carried out, alongside repair and reconstruction works. Authorities said that essential structures required for restoring electricity services are being identified and prioritized for immediate action.

Alternative Measures to Expand Electricity Access

Efforts are also being made to expand electricity access in the affected areas through alternative arrangements. Until full power service is restored, relevant agencies are working on various solutions to ensure the operation of essential services and provide necessary support to affected residents.

Flood damage to roads and other infrastructure has created significant challenges in transporting technical equipment and materials to the affected locations. However, restoration work on power infrastructure is continuing through the mobilization of available resources.

Efforts to Bring Water Across the River

Meanwhile, work is also underway to bring water from areas across the river in Rasuwa. This arrangement is expected to help meet drinking water needs and other basic daily requirements in flood-affected settlements.

The destruction of electricity and other critical infrastructure has made life even more difficult for residents in the affected areas. Authorities expect that once electricity services are restored, essential services such as drinking water supply and communications will also improve significantly.

Technical Teams Remain in the Field

Technical teams and personnel from relevant agencies remain deployed in the field under challenging conditions, working to restore electricity and other critical infrastructure disrupted by the floods as quickly as possible.

Damage assessments, repairs, reconstruction, and alternative power supply arrangements are being carried out simultaneously. In particular, restoring electricity service in the affected areas has been given top priority, with work on the Nuwakot–Rasuwa power interconnection being accelerated.
