The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday rose 9.24 points; the first day rise after the market index went to straight falls for consecutive six days following the Bhotekoshi-Trishuli floods.

The secondary market initially dropped around 17 points in the first 25 minutes before it hit the day’s high at 2,537.74 points within the first hour. The market remained almost stable for the next around three hours, showing nominal fluctuations.

The trading amount decreased to Rs 2.89 billion from Rs 3.64 billion of the previous day's turnover. While the prices of 181 companies increased, 84 decreased while 12 remained unchanged.

The hydropower group that had been under pressure in one week after floods inclined the most by 1.01 percent. Except for manufacturing and processing that fell by one percent, the remaining 12 groups had their indices increased.

The price of Upper Mailung Khola Jalvidhyut Limited increased the highest of 7.15 percent. MBL Equity Fund increased by 5.88 percent, Emerging Nepal by 4.85 percent, Sanjen Hydropower by 3.81 percent, Menchiyam Hydropower by 3.69 percent, and Mandu Hydropower increased by 3.61 percent.

The price of Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha decreased the most 8.48 percent. Ghorahi Cement decreased by 5.53 percent, CYC Laghubitta by 5.39 percent, and Bhagawati Hydropower decreased by 5.27 percent.

Among the companies with the largest transactions, Solu Hydropower witnessed Rs 138.27 million, followed by Shivam Cement, Aankhukhola Hydropower, Ridi Power, Sanima Middle Tamor, and Chilime Hydropower, respectively.
