The trade volume at the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose to Rs 7.05 billion, the largest in the past one week.

After the glitches that were witnessed in the trading platform of the country’s secondary market on Monday, the NEPSE index increased by 7.06 points to close at 2,654.28 points on Tuesday trading. The index plunged to the day’s low at 2,638.93 points while it rose to as high as 2,662.72 points within one hour of the commencement of trading.

The share prices of 137 companies rose, while those of 131 companies fell and the prices of 11 companies remained stable.

Mid Solu Hydropower saw the highest gain, with its share price rising by 14.99 percent. It was followed by First Microfinance, the price of which rose by 7.75 percent.

Snow Rivers saw the steepest decline, with its share price falling by 8.23 percent. Likewise, the share price of Narayani Development Bank fell by 6.96 percent.

Hathway Investment recorded the highest turnover, with shares worth Rs 444.04 million were traded on Tuesday. Himalayan Distillery ranked second in terms of turnover worth Rs 403.6 million.

Out of the 13 sectoral indices traded on Tuesday, six declined while the remaining seven rose. Among them, the 'Others' sector index recorded the highest gain, rising by 1.36 percent. On the other hand, the ‘trading’ index declined by the highest of 0.93 percent.
