Work is underway to bring road traffic into operation at Galchhi-Syaphrubesi road within coming mid-October. The road was damaged by the August 26 Bhotekoshi floods.

According to Division of Roads, vehicular movement has already resumed after maintenance of road at most of the places.

Director General of the Division, Dr Bijay Jaisi, shared that works are underway to bring the transport service into operation at Galchhi-Syaphrubesi section within Dashain. Traffic resumed after completing temporary maintenance at Kolpukhola connecting Dhading-Nuwakot.

Around 200 meters of road at Ratomate of the road section was swept away by the flood. However, vehicular movement from Galchhi to Bidur has already come into operation after the Nepal Army installed a bailey bridge at Devighat of Nuwakot.

Out of 10-kilometer road from Bidur to Betrabati, nine-kilometer has already opened for vehicular movement while landslide has obstructed around 300 meters road. The Nepal Army are working to open track towards both sides at the area and transport service from Galchhi to Syaphrubesi would come into operation once bailey bridges are installed at two places.

A 72-meter long bailey bridge would be installed by the Nepal Army at Betrabati of Rasuwa.

The flood has completely damaged around 15-kilometer road towards Rasuwagadhi from Syaphrubesi. Two-way vehicular movement has already come into operation after opening track at Krishnabhir of Muglin-Galchhi section. The road at Krishnabhir had collapsed due to floods in the adjoining Trishuli river.
