The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) today filed a charge sheet against Bijay Kumar Chaudhary, deputy director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) at the Special Court of Kathmandu for illegally amassing assets by abusing his authority.

Filing charge sheet against Chaudhary, CIAA has sought confiscation of Chaudhary’s disproportionate income worth Rs 21.4 million. “We had received complaints regarding Chaudhary’s involvement in amassing assets illegally and our investigation proved it right,” said Rameshwor Dangal, spokesperson for CIAA.

The CIAA probe had found that Chaudhary had transferred a majority of his illegally amassed assets in the name of his wife Priyanka Kumari Chaudhary. In the charge sheet filed today, CIAA has sought confiscation of all illegally amassed movable and immovable property in the name of Priyanka Chaudhary.
