Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka has inspected the Dhalkebar substation in Dhanusha on Monday.

He observed the 400 kV substation built with the investment of Nepal Government and Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and the 220 and 132 kV Dhalkebar substation built with the concessional loan of the World Bank and the joint investment of Nepal Government and NEA.

Nepal's largest substation of 400 kV capacity has been constructed using GIS technology. From this substation, electricity is being exported from Nepal to India during the rainy season and imported from India to Nepal during the winter.

During the inspection, Minister Khadka directed to complete the work of the transmission line connecting Hetauda from Dhalkebar as soon as possible.

He said that internal consumption of power should be increased for the development of the country's energy sector.

The electricity to be generated from the under-construction Arun III hydropower project will be connected to India's Sitamadhi district through the Dhalkebar substation.

Similarly, the construction of transmission line and substation to connect Hetauda of Makwanpur and Inaruwa substation of Sunsari from the same substation will be connected via the same station.
