On June 25, 2025, GAC Business, a subsidiary of GAC Group, and UPOWER ENERGY jointly opened a new sales outlet and battery service center in Bangkok’s central business district. This dual launch marks a key milestone in GAC’s “One GAC 2.0” global strategy, focusing on integrated vehicle and energy solutions in Southeast Asia.

The Bangkok facility is UPOWER ENERGY’s first overseas self-operated battery service center, reflecting GAC Group’s commitment to strengthening its presence in key markets. Co-located with the GAC Business sales outlet, the center provides comprehensive battery diagnostics and repair services, ensuring a seamless customer experience from vehicle purchase to aftersales support.

Thailand, a significant hub for new energy vehicles (NEVs) in Southeast Asia, has seen growing demand for sustainable mobility solutions. At the opening ceremony, Wang Ke, general manager of UPOWER ENERGY, stated: “UPOWER ENERGY is the core entity of GAC’s energy and ecosystem business,” highlighting its role in advancing the company’s regional ambitions.

UPOWER ENERGY has secured notable regulatory support, holding Thailand’s first EV battery repair service license from the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI). It is the only NEV ecosystem enterprise in Thailand with three BOI licenses, covering EV battery repair, charging equipment import and installation, and EV charging station investment and operations. The Bangkok center is uniquely equipped to perform multi-level repairs on battery packs, modules, and individual cells, using GAC’s proprietary CTP disassembly technology for safe and reliable service.

To support NEV adoption, UPOWER ENERGY has established 27 charging stations across Thailand and plans to expand to 200 stations with 1,000 high-power chargers by 2027. This network will enhance the country’s charging infrastructure, supporting the growing NEV market and reinforcing GAC’s commitment to sustainable mobility.

The integrated sales and service hub strengthens GAC’s ability to deliver end-to-end solutions, from vehicle sales to energy support, fostering Thailand’s transition to cleaner transportation and contributing to regional economic growth.
