A 400 kV transmission line is set to be constructed from Gujara Municipality in Rautahat district to Pokhariya Municipality in Parsa district, under Madhesh Province.

The Department of Electricity Development has stated that the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has obtained permission for the construction of this transmission line.

The proposed transmission line will begin at the Nijgadh substation located in Wards 2 and 3 of Gujara Municipality in Rautahat district and will pass through Gujara Municipality, Fatuwa Bijaypur Municipality, Kolhabi Municipality and Karaiyamai Rural Municipality of Bara district, Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City, Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City, reaching the proposed Ramauli substation in Ward 8 of Jitpur Simara. From there, it will continue through Birgunj Metropolitan City, Parsagadhi Municipality, Sakhuwaprasauni Rural Municipality, Jagarnathpur Rural Municipality, and finally end at the Pokhariya substation in Ward 1 of Pokhariya Municipality, Parsa district.

The total length of the transmission line will be 64.604 kilometers.

According to the NEA, the transmission line will have a voltage of 400,000 volts (400 kV), be a double-circuit line, and will be capable of transmitting up to 2,000 megawatts of electricity.

A total of 185 towers will be constructed along the route. The maximum height of the towers will be 59.43 meters, and the distance between the towers will range from 155.318 to 561.52 meters.

The goal is to complete the construction of the transmission line within approximately four years.
