In a significant milestone for Nepal’s energy sector, the 82 MW Lower Solu Hydropower Project has officially been synchronized with the national grid. This marks a major achievement in the nation’s continued push toward sustainable energy and infrastructure development.

What began as an ambitious vision faced numerous challenges - from difficult geological terrain and financial constraints to demanding field conditions. Yet, through unwavering resilience and teamwork, the project has now reached full operational status.

The successful grid connection is a result of the combined efforts of multiple stakeholders, including developers, contracting agencies, consultants, and lending institutions. The project also received critical support from several government entities, including the Department of Electricity Development (DOED), Ministry of Energy (MOE), Ministry of Hydropower (MOH), Ministry of Finance (MOF), Ministry of Defense (MOD), and the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) along with its various departments.

Local communities and government bodies - municipalities, wards, and administrative offices - also played a vital role in supporting the project through its various phases.
