NMB Bank Limited has committed to a sole loan investment in the under-construction Upper Sardi Khola Hydropower Project located in Machhapuchchhre Rural Municipality of Kaski district.

The 2.9 MW project is being developed under the promotion of Mandakini Hydropower Limited.

As per the agreement, NMB Bank will handle the financial management of the project, with a total estimated cost of Rs 661.89 million.

The bank will invest Rs 463.32 million as a single lender.

At the agreement signing ceremony, NMB Bank CEO Gobinda Ghimire urged the project developer to complete the construction within the stipulated time and budget.

In response, Mandakini Hydropower Chairman Sharad Kumar Dahal expressed gratitude towards the bank and assured timely completion of the project with proper coordination with the local government.

Previously, Mandakini Hydropower had also promoted the 4 MW Sardi Khola Hydropower Project, which began commercial operation on Mangsir 23, 2074.

That project was financed through a consortium loan led by NMB Bank.

NMB Bank has implemented the Environmental and Social Risk Management System (ESRMS) in line with Nepal Rastra Bank’s guidelines.

The bank has stated its commitment to inclusive and responsible investment in hydropower projects, aligned with its environmental and social policies.

Currently, NMB Bank operates 202 branches, 187 ATMs, and 9 extension counters across Nepal.
