Shenzhen-based intelamp, a provider of solar landscape lighting solutions, has achieved a Guinness World Record for creating the largest display of solar-powered LEDs. On August 28, the company arranged 36,862 intelamp solar lights to illuminate the Mingsha Mountain dunes in Dunhuang, western China. The installation surpassed the previous record of 24,765 lights set in Japan and attracted more than 40,000 visitors.

Founded in 2004, intelamp entered the solar lighting industry with a focus on sustainable outdoor solutions. Since 2015, the company has expanded its product line to include decorative fixtures and general lighting replacements. According to its website, all outdoor solar lights in its range are equipped with a monocrystalline solar panel and a lithium iron phosphate battery, which is designed to provide twice the lifespan of conventional alternatives.

The lighting products also feature smart motion detection sensors that automatically activate illumination when required. Users can operate the lights via remote control, and a linkage mode allows multiple units to synchronize for coordinated operation. With an IP65 waterproof rating, the products are engineered to endure outdoor environments. The company currently lists 15 products in its outdoor solar lighting line, priced between $39.00 and $79.99.

China remains the leading global producer of solar lights, accounting for more than 90% of worldwide output. In a statement, intelamp said the Guinness World Record emphasizes the potential of renewable energy and reinforces its mission to promote sustainable lighting solutions internationally.
