On October 16, BYD Auto (Thailand) Co., Ltd., in partnership with Rever Automotive Co., Ltd., held a ceremony in Bangkok to mark the delivery of its 100,000th new energy vehicle (NEV) in the Thai market. The milestone coincided with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand, emphasizing the longstanding cooperation and friendship between the two countries.

Liu Xueliang, General Manager of BYD Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division, highlighted that reaching the 100,000th vehicle at this symbolic moment reflects strong recognition from Thai consumers and the growing economic, cultural, and social ties between China and Thailand. He added that the increasing adoption of NEVs demonstrates how environmental awareness is influencing Thai car buyers. Liu further noted that BYD will continue to invest in Thailand by introducing upgraded products, technologies, and services.

Korn Dabbaransi, President of the Thai-Chinese Friendship Association, praised the BYD Song PLUS DM-i, which served as the official vehicle of the "50th Anniversary Friendship Journey." He cited the model’s impressive long-distance performance as a key reason for his endorsement, highlighting the event theme: "From B to B — Bangkok to Beijing by BYD," which showcases BYD’s advanced hybrid technology.

The Song PLUS DM-i, marking this delivery milestone, is locally assembled at BYD’s Thai manufacturing plant. The premium plug-in hybrid SUV features BYD’s DM-i Super Hybrid system, offering both strong performance and fuel efficiency. It currently ranks first in registration volume among plug-in hybrid electric vehicle models in Thailand, demonstrating its popularity with local consumers.

Notably, the Song PLUS DM-i fleet serving as the official vehicles for the “China–Thailand 50th Anniversary Friendship Journey” is traveling from Bangkok to Beijing, having already reached Zhangjiajie. The 5,000-kilometer journey highlights the model’s long-range endurance and reliability under extended driving conditions, reinforcing its capabilities as a high-performance hybrid SUV.

BYD’s Thai manufacturing facility serves as a strategic production base for Southeast Asia, supporting both domestic sales and exports. The plant has strengthened Thailand’s NEV industry supply chain, created local employment, and reflected BYD’s commitment to deep localization and sustainable growth in regional and global markets.
