The government of Nepal has decided to scrap the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Operational Standards and Procedures, 2071 BS. Education Minister Mahabir Pun shared that today's Cabinet meeting has decided to reduce the monthly rental rate of Special Economic Zones from Rs 20 per square meter to Rs 5.

The meeting also decided to accept the EU's assistance of 23.58 million Euros for the 'Green and Reliable Energy for Economic Prosperity in Nepal' project. Similarly, Minister Pun said that the government has approved the Electricity Regulatory Commission to become a member of the 'South Asia for Infrastructure Regulation'.

The meeting has also approved to match the posts of some offices and make additions to the existing sanctioned strength of Nepal Police.

For this, it has been decided to start work by forming an organization and management survey committee. The cabinet decided to make arrangements for the treatment and relief of the injured of the Gen-Z movement of September 8 and 9, to deploy 10 volunteers besides the joint secretary and deputy secretary in the help desk run by the government and to provide them lunch expenses at the rate of Rs 15,000 per month for four months.

The meeting decided to promote Deputy Inspector General of Police Ishwar Karki to the post of Additional Inspector General of Police. It has also been decided to recommend to the President to issue the 'Land Ordinance, Ninth Amendment 2022'. The government has also decided to approve 37 projects of the authorized level for the integrated land-perimeter planning of protected areas and biological routes under the Ministry of Forest and Environment in the fiscal year 2082/83 BS.
