Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has slashes the prices of diesel and kerosene by Re 1 per litre, effective from Monday, December 1.

Issuing a statement, NOC said diesel and kerosene will now cost Rs 143.50 per litre in the first-category areas, Rs 145 per litre in the second-category areas, and Rs 146 per litre in the third-category areas. The price of petrol has remained unchanged, the statement added.

The NOC has classified depots in Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi and Birgunj in the first category; Surkhet and Dang as the second category; and Kathmandu, Pokhara and Dipayal in the third category. The revised retail rates apply within a 15-kilometre radius of the respective depots.

Meanwhile, the NOC has increased the price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) for both domestic and international flights. The price of aviation fuel for domestic flights has been increased by Rs 6 per litre to Rs 134 per litre, while the price of ATF for international flights has been increased by USD 42 per kilolitre to USD 1,015 per kilolitre in Kathmandu.

According to the NOC, its board meeting revised the price based on the new purchase rates received from Indian Oil Corporation,the sole supplier to Nepal. Under the revised rates, the import cost of diesel and kerosene fell by Rs 1.44 per litre, while that of aviation fuel rose by Rs 5.62 per litre.
