Chilime Hydropower Company Limited, through its subsidiary, is planning to construct the 87-megawatt Seti River–3 semi-reservoir hydropower project in Sudurpashchim Province.

To move the project forward, Chilime has decided to transfer the electricity generation license to its subsidiary, Chilime Seti Hydropower Company Limited. A special proposal to this effect will be presented at Chilime’s 29th Annual General Meeting scheduled for Poush 30. Once approved by the meeting, the license will be officially transferred to Chilime Seti.

The estimated cost of constructing the semi-reservoir Seti River–3 project is NPR 19.66 billion. Studies show that the project will generate an average of 482.5 million units of electricity annually.

The target is to begin electricity generation within the next five years, specifically by May 10, 2028. The project will have a one-hour peaking time. Its design discharge is 84.60 cubic meters per second, and the total head will be 124 meters. The project’s physical structures are proposed to be located on the left bank of the Seti River in Jayaprithvi Municipality.

The project’s dam will be 67 meters long and 16 meters high. Three generators, each with a capacity of 29 megawatts, will be installed at the powerhouse.

The electricity generated by the project will be connected to the Bajhang Substation at Kailash through a 12-kilometer-long 132 kV transmission line. According to Chilime, the project will affect Jayaprithvi in Bajhang as well as Khaptchhanna Rural Municipality, Masta Rural Municipality, Chhabispathivera Rural Municipality, and Thalara Rural Municipality.

Chilime Hydropower is advancing four hydropower projects through its subsidiary companies. These include the 87-megawatt Seti River–3 semi-reservoir project, the 81-megawatt Budhigandaki project, the 91-megawatt Budhigandaki project, and the 45-megawatt Syarkhalo project.
