The Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Project, which was damaged by the Lhendekhola flood that occurred on July 8, has resumed operation after repairs. At present, 68 megawatts of electricity generated by the project has been connected to the national transmission line.

According to the Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Center, electricity generation has begun after the completion of repairs to two of the three turbines of the 111-megawatt project, as well as to the intake dam and the canal.

According to Satyaram Jyakhwa, Executive Director of the Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Company, following repair and rehabilitation work, 37 megawatts of electricity were generated in the month of Mid November / December and a further 31 megawatts have been produced recently. He stated that it will take some more time to reach full-capacity production as the remaining cleaning and repair work is still ongoing.

It is expected that the remaining 43 megawatts of electricity yet to be produced at full capacity will begin generation from May–July. However, the project has stated that electricity production will decrease during the dry season when water flow declines.

After the Lhendekhola flood caused extensive damage to equipment and structures, the project had to bear losses amounting to approximately NPR 3.51 billion. With the project resuming operations after repairs, it is expected to provide relief to the national power system.
