Electricity from the central transmission line, which had been disrupted in the district, has now been restored. The 33 kV transmission line brought from Solukhumbu resumed operation from Saturday night after repairs.

The 33 kV line had broken down around 5 PM on Saturday near the Tingla substation, located between Solukhumbu and Okhaldhunga. According to Sujan Bastola, in-charge of the Buipa substation under the Nepal Electricity Authority, technicians from the Okhaldhunga Distribution Center repaired the line, and it came back into operation at around 10 PM.

He stated that electricity supply has been restored in areas including Halesi Tuwachung, Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi, Aiselukharka, Rawabesi, and Kepilasgadhi. However, the lines under the Bagedhunga substation supplying five rural municipalities across the Sapsukhola river are expected to come into operation during the daytime.

From the Bagedhunga substation, electricity is distributed to Diprung Chuichumma, Sakela, Khotehang, Barahapokhari, and Jantedhunga rural municipalities. Among these, power has been disrupted in Sakela since 16th March, while in the other four municipalities, the outage began from Saturday evening.

According to Bastola, electricity in all five municipalities will be restored by Sunday afternoon after repairs are completed. “Electricity could not be restored to the feeder line up to the Bagedhunga substation last night; repair work is ongoing, and supply will resume by daytime,” he said. “The main central transmission line has already been fixed, and the internal distribution lines within the district will also be restored soon.”
