The construction progress of the 44 MW Bhotekoshi-1 Hydropower Project, currently under development in Sindhupalchok district, has been found to be satisfactory. A recent technical monitoring visit revealed significant progress in the project’s major civil and electromechanical structures.

TAC Hydro Consultancy Pvt. Ltd., appointed as the technical consultant on behalf of Nepal Infrastructure Bank Limited (NIFRA), recently conducted a site inspection to assess construction progress, technical quality, and bill certification.

The run-of-river hydropower project is being developed by Electro Power Company Limited in Sindhupalchok.

According to TAC Hydro Consultancy, the inspection found notable progress in the construction of the project’s headworks, tunnel, underground powerhouse complex, and the installation of electromechanical equipment.

The consulting team reviewed the construction progress against the approved work schedule and also carried out a technical evaluation of the Interim Payment Certificate (IPC) bills submitted by the contractor. The assessment covered the quantity and quality of completed works, as well as compliance with technical standards and specifications.

TAC Hydro Consultancy stated that the inspection provided lending institutions with an independent assessment of the project’s actual progress, technical status, and upcoming work plans. As the project advances toward completion, the evaluation is expected to support effective monitoring and informed decision-making by the lenders.
