Nepal Telecom has expanded its 4G mobile service to several remote Himalayan settlements in Mugu and Bajura districts, improving access to high-speed internet and digital communication in previously underserved areas.

The telecom operator has launched 4G services at Sorukot in Soru Rural Municipality–6 of Mugu, as well as at Neta in Himali Rural Municipality–1 and Kuwadi area of Bajura.

A special inauguration program was held at Sorukot, attended by local representatives, government officials, Nepal Telecom technical staff, and residents.

Speaking at the event, Soru Rural Municipality Chairperson Dharmabahadur Shahi and Vice-Chairperson Keshar Bahadur Shahi described the expansion of modern telecommunication services in the remote region as a historic achievement and pledged local support for sustainable operation and future capacity upgrades.

According to Nepal Telecom, the newly installed 4G tower at Neta has extended coverage to several settlements including Kot, Neta, Bam, Baudi, Yauna, Natikhola, and nearby areas up to the Gumba region.

The service has also reached the trekking route from Bajura to Ranisain. Similarly, coverage has been expanded around the Kuwadi River confluence area and along the route leading to Tajakot Rural Municipality–2 of Humla.

With the launch of 4G services, residents will now have easier access to high-speed mobile internet, improved voice quality, and SMS services.

Nepal Telecom said the expansion is expected to support local economic and social development by enhancing access to information, education, healthcare, and government services.

Reaffirming its commitment to the slogan “Communication for the Nation,” Nepal Telecom said it will continue expanding advanced telecommunication and information technology services from urban centers to the country’s most remote regions.
