Electric vehicles (EVs) are rapidly gaining popularity in Nepal. Rising fuel prices, growing environmental awareness, lower operating costs, and government incentives have encouraged more Nepali consumers to embrace electric mobility.

However, when purchasing an EV, buyers often focus primarily on battery capacity, driving range, charging time, or price.

The road network in Kathmandu Valley presents unique driving challenges compared with many modern cities. Narrow streets, frequent traffic congestion, sharp turns, steep gradients, and limited parking spaces require vehicles that are compact, agile, and easy to manoeuvre.

The Brumby’s compact dimensions combined with its Rear-Wheel Drive configuration make it particularly well suited to these conditions. Its tight turning radius, ease of parking, low operating costs, and the instant torque characteristic of electric motors help simplify everyday urban driving.

A proud Brumby owner from Kathmandu, Ramesh Adhikari, shared his experience: “Initially, I assumed a compact EV might struggle on steep roads. However, after driving the Brumby, I found it remarkably capable on uphill routes from Dhapasi to Budhanilkantha. The Rear-Wheel Drive system genuinely makes a noticeable difference,” he says.

Similarly, agriculture entrepreneur…from Butwal who has been driving Brumby to frequent between Palpa, his hometown to Butwal where he runs an agri-based business states, “My work requires me to drive from Palpa to Butwal and also around the city throughout the month. The Brumby is easy to park, effortless to manoeuvre through narrow streets, and feels exceptionally balanced even in uphill and muddy roads.”

He also says that operating costs of Brumby are impressively low, adding, “But what I appreciate most is the driving experience. Despite being a compact vehicle, it feels stable, confident, and enjoyable to drive.”
