On the third trading day of the week today, Wednesday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) declined by single digits. After fluctuating throughout the day, NEPSE eventually closed down by 7.79 points. Compared to the previous trading day, the turnover amount also decreased today.

NEPSE had dropped by 4.64 points on Tuesday. On Monday, it had dropped by 33.28 points. Dropping by 0.28 percent compared to the previous trading day, NEPSE stopped at 2688.88 points today.

Today, the sensitive index also declined by 0.78 points to settle at 470.00 points. Percentage-wise, this is 0.16 percent lower than the previous trading day. Similarly, the float index fell by 0.35 percent and the sensitive float index by 0.26 percent.

In the stock market on Wednesday, at least 9,777,512 shares of 343 companies were bought and sold across 48,072 transactions. Accordingly, a turnover of Rs 4.029 billion was recorded on Wednesday. On Tuesday, a turnover of Rs 4.427 billion took place. Similarly, on Monday, a turnover of Rs 6.08 billion was recorded.

Share prices of 78 companies rose on NEPSE today. Share prices of 186 companies declined, while share prices of 11 companies remained stable. Out of 13 sub-indices traded on NEPSE today, Wednesday, indices for the Mutual Fund and Others groups increased, while indices for the remaining 11 groups fell.

Accordingly, on NEPSE on Wednesday, the indices for Commercial Bank fell by 0.27 percent, Development Bank by 0.42 percent, Finance by 0.57 percent, Hotel and Tourism by 0.52 percent, Hydropower by 0.39 percent, Investment by 0.24 percent, Life Insurance by 0.19 percent, Manufacturing and Processing by 0.55 percent, and Microfinance group by 0.60 percent. While the index for the mutual fund group rose by 0.31 percent, the non-life insurance group index dropped by 0.57 percent.

Similarly, while the index for the Others group rose by 0.43 percent, the sub-index for the Trading group fell by 0.01 percent.

On NEPSE on Wednesday, investors in Everest Color earned 14.99 percent. Investors in Garima Samriddhi Yojana, however, lost 6.60 percent in share price.

In terms of turnover amount, Himalaya Power Partner topped the list today. On Wednesday, its shares worth Rs 224.8 million were traded.

Similarly, in terms of number of shares traded, Khanikhola Hydropower Company was ahead today. On Wednesday, at least 720,327 of its shares were traded. Its final trading price today stood at Rs 295 per share.
