The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index fell for a second consecutive day on Friday, declining 4.05 points to close at 2,650.09 points as shares of 184 companies lost value.

The market declined despite gains in the production and processing, microfinance, mutual fund and trading subgroups, with most other subgroups ending lower.

The share price of Upper Lohore Khola Hydropower fell the most, dropping 6.93 percent.

Market turnover also declined. Shares worth Rs 4.62 billion were traded on Thursday, while Friday’s turnover stood at Rs 3.7743 billion.

Solu Hydropower recorded the highest turnover at Rs 392.5 million, followed by Ridi Power Company with Rs 230.2 million and Sanima Bank with Rs 170 million.

Shares of 86 companies gained on Friday. Atmanirbhar Laghubitta recorded the highest gain, with its share price rising 8.54 percent.
