Chinese automobile manufacturer Changan has introduced its new electric SUV, the Deepal Nevo Q05, in the Nepali market, expanding competition in the country’s growing compact electric SUV segment.

The Q05, launched under the Deepal brand, has been positioned as a compact electric SUV featuring a modern design, long driving range, fast-charging capability and advanced technology.

It will be available in Nepal in two variants: the Max, priced at Rs 4.699 million, and the Ultra, priced at Rs 4.999 million.

The Q05 is now among the more competitively priced electric SUVs in the Deepal lineup available in Nepal.

The SUV is powered by a 120kW electric motor producing a maximum torque of 190Nm.

Based on a front-wheel-drive (FWD) system, it has a claimed top speed of 160km/h.

The Nepali-spec Q05 comes with a 51.9kWh CATL LFP battery, with the company claiming a maximum CLTC range of up to 506km on a single charge.

According to specifications from the Chinese market, the Q05 is also offered with two battery options—40.3kWh and 51.9kWh.

Charging is another key feature of the Q05, which supports 3C fast-charging technology.

The company claims that, when connected to a suitable DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 30% to 80% in around 15 minutes.

The SUV has a 2,735mm wheelbase and offers up to 540 litres of boot space, providing ample room for passengers and luggage.

In terms of styling, the Q05 follows Deepal’s latest design language and features split LED headlamps, flush door handles and a full-width rear light bar.

The higher-specification Ultra variant is also equipped with an advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) with LiDAR, according to the company.

Inside, the Q05 features a large infotainment display, a digital instrument cluster, as well as a range of connectivity, convenience and comfort features.

The Q05 was launched in China in November 2025 and has achieved significant sales in a relatively short period.

Reports in Aug 2026 said its cumulative sales in China had surpassed 100,000 units.

With the arrival of the Deepal Nevo Q05, competition in Nepal’s compact electric SUV market is expected to intensify further, particularly in the increasingly competitive price range around Rs 5 million.
