The 18th NADA Auto Show 2026 opens Tuesday at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu, bringing electric and hybrid vehicles, emerging automotive technologies, robots and locally manufactured products under one roof.

The six-day exhibition, running from August 25 to 30, has been organized as a special Golden Jubilee edition to mark the 50th anniversary of the Nepal Automobile Dealers Association (NADA).

This year’s event is being positioned not merely as a vehicle exhibition but as a showcase of the transformation, technological progress and future prospects of Nepal’s automobile industry.

NADA President Surendra Kumar Upreti said the automobile sector has become an important component of Nepal’s economic and industrial development during the association’s five-decade journey.

According to Upreti, the Golden Jubilee edition aims to reflect both the evolution of the automobile market and the opportunities emerging in the sector.

NADA Auto Show Committee Chairman Anup Kumar Baral said the exhibition covers around 300,000 square feet and features more than 200 large and small stalls.

The show will feature 23 passenger vehicle brands, 17 light commercial vehicle brands and 30 two-wheeler brands. Ten financial and insurance companies will also participate.

Another 70 stalls have been allocated to automotive parts, tires and batteries, giving visitors access to a broader ecosystem surrounding vehicle ownership and mobility.

Focus on Made-in-Nepal Products

A major feature of this year’s exhibition is the dedicated “Made in Nepal and Make for Nepal” pavilion.

Around eight Nepali manufacturers will showcase products manufactured or assembled domestically, including electric motorcycles, automotive batteries, lubricants and helmets.

The dedicated pavilion reflects the growing emphasis on domestic production and local value addition within Nepal’s automobile industry.

The organizers said the objective is to bring locally produced automotive products closer to consumers while highlighting the capabilities of Nepali manufacturers.

EVs and Charging Infrastructure Take Center Stage

Electric and hybrid vehicles are expected to remain among the biggest attractions at the 2026 NADA Auto Show.

Brands including BYD, Leapmotor, Geely, MG and Wuling will showcase electric vehicles across different price segments and categories. In the two-wheeler segment, Revolt and Nepal-designed and assembled Yatri electric motorcycles will also be on display.

NADA said around 63,000 electric vehicles have entered Nepal so far, while approximately 2,000 charging stations are currently operational across the country through the combined efforts of the private sector and Nepal Electricity Authority.

The association has highlighted a growing gap between the pace of electric vehicle adoption and the development of charging infrastructure.

The auto show will therefore bring vehicle manufacturers, charging infrastructure providers and financial service companies together, providing a platform to discuss the challenges and opportunities surrounding Nepal’s transition toward electric mobility.

GI Charger will serve as the official charging partner of the event. Exicom, ZEVPoint and Aircharge will demonstrate AC and DC charging systems at the exhibition.

Robots Add a New Dimension

Robotics will be another major attraction at this year’s show.

NADA said visitors will be able to see the GI humanoid robot and Go2 quadruped robot during the exhibition. The robots are expected to offer visitors a glimpse into advances in automation, mobility and future transportation technology.

By combining automobiles, charging technology, robotics and locally manufactured products, organizers expect this year’s event to appeal not only to automobile enthusiasts but also to visitors interested in emerging technologies.

More Than an Auto Exhibition

The scale and diversity of the 2026 edition reflect the changing nature of Nepal’s automobile market.

With passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, two-wheelers, components, batteries, charging systems, financial services and insurance companies participating, the event provides a broad view of the country’s automotive ecosystem.

The emphasis on electric mobility also comes at a time when Nepal’s vehicle market is undergoing a significant shift toward cleaner propulsion technologies, while manufacturers and importers compete across increasingly diverse price and product segments.

At the same time, the dedicated Made-in-Nepal pavilion puts the spotlight on whether domestic manufacturers can capture a larger share of the growing automotive value chain.

Ticketing, Parking and Visitor Facilities

HP Lubricants is the title sponsor of NADA Auto Show 2026.

Visitors can purchase advance tickets through the Khalti app, the event’s ticketing partner. Organizers have announced cashback of up to 50 percent on ticket purchases during specified periods.

Parking facilities will be available at the Nepal Police Club and National Trading premises. Shuttle bus services will connect the designated parking areas with the exhibition venue to facilitate visitor movement.

With its Golden Jubilee theme, expanded exhibition space and focus on electric mobility, robotics and domestic production, the 18th NADA Auto Show is set to showcase how Nepal’s automobile market is moving beyond conventional vehicle sales toward a broader mobility and technology ecosystem.
