More than 133 employees and workers involved in various hydropower projects in Rasuwa have gone missing following the devastating floods, according to the latest data from the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).

The missing workers include both Nepali and foreign nationals, with several hydropower sites in the district severely affected by the flooding.

According to the NEA, 21 employees working at the construction site of the Trishuli 3B Hydropower Project are out of contact.

Similarly, six people at the power plant area of the Chilime Hydropower Centre and one person near its residential area have also been reported missing.

Another 11 workers employed by Chesko Company, under Chilime Hydropower Company and working at the Trishuli 3B construction site, remain unaccounted for.

At the Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Centre, 51 workers have been contacted, while several others remain out of communication.

Meanwhile, 45 employees and workers involved in maintenance work at the powerhouse of the Trishuli 3A Hydropower Project are also missing.

The NEA said one employee each at the Trishuli Hydropower Centre and Devighat Hydropower Centre is out of contact.

Two workers associated with the Rasuwa Distribution Centre - including one working at the Chilime powerhouse switchyard and another meter reader from Gotaganti - are also unaccounted for.

Similarly, 16 contractor personnel working at the Trishuli 220 kV 3B Hub and another 29 workers engaged in maintenance and construction work at the Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Centre are missing, according to the authority.

Following reports that employees and workers were cut off after the floods, an NEA team led by Acting Executive Director Dirghayu Shrestha reached the affected areas to assess the situation.

Shrestha said NEA teams have been mobilised to support the search and rescue of those still missing.

Another team has been working locally to evacuate and rescue employees and members of the public who remain in high-risk areas.

He said efforts are also underway to restore communication with workers and personnel stationed at affected transmission and power-generation facilities.

The NEA is coordinating with local administrations, security agencies, local governments, health institutions and other stakeholders to collect information on missing workers and those still present at the affected sites. Search and rescue operations are continuing across the affected areas.
