Everest Bank and Nepal SBI Bank have agreed to provide loans worth Rs 1.368 billion for the 30 MW Dhalkebar-2 Solar Power Project to be developed in Dhanusha district.

A loan investment agreement has been signed between the two banks and the project promoter, Integrated Engineering and Industrial Enterprises. The total estimated cost of the project stands at Rs 1.9556 billion.

Under the financing structure, 70 percent of the project cost will be covered through bank loans, while the remaining 30 percent will be financed through equity investment. According to the promoter, equity investment will amount to Rs 587.6 million.

The project signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Nepal Electricity Authority in mid December-mid January 2026. The company also submitted an application for a generation license to the Department of Electricity Development in mid August-mid September 2026.

With the completion of the loan agreement, the project has achieved a major milestone in its financial closure process.

Once operational, the project is expected to generate approximately 59.9 million units of electricity annually. The generated power will be evacuated through a 1.7-kilometre transmission line connecting the project to the Nepal Electricity Authority’s Dhalkebar Substation, from where it will be fed into the national grid.

The promoter aims to complete construction within one year of the start of project works.
